After graduating third in her class at Lee Academy in Lee, Maine, with awards in Algebra and Biology, Sandra moved to Bangor to start her career in the insurance industry. She started as an “Insurance Clerk,” providing clients with customer service support and handling the manual rating and issuance of both business and personal property policies.
In 1977, Sandra obtained her license and soon after furthered her insurance knowledge by attending courses through the Insurance Institute of America. In 1981, Sandra earned her General Insurance designation and Certified Professional insurance Designation (CPIW). With a deeper understanding of her industry, Sandra had now grown from into a management position, where she supervised both Personal and Business Insurance customer service divisions.
In 1993, Cross Insurance purchased the agency where Sandra worked, and as a result, she took on the duties of managing and supervising the sales and service of Cross’ personal insurance department. Sandra is now the Vice President of Personal Lines at Cross Insurance.
Sandra considers herself to be fortunate for both her work family and personal family. Her greatest encouragement and sense of accomplishment come from the company she keeps. She loves helping people and problem solving, making her job in the industry a perfect fit, as she is able to work closely with clients, insurance companies, and employees alike, ensuring that she will be in the position to resolve issues wherever they should arise.
Sandra has been recognized for numerous awards, including, but not limited to, the Travelers High Achiever Award and the ISU Manager of the Year for the East Division.
