The team at Rand Insurance is pleased to announce that effective as of January 1st, 2024, we have been branded under the Cross Insurance and Cross Private Client Insurance name.
Rand Insurance has been a part of the Cross Insurance family since September of 2019, and the relationship has proven to be a success since the outset. Cross Insurance has demonstrated an exceptional level of commitment to our stakeholders: customers, staff, insurance carriers, and our local community. Rebranding our agency under the Cross Insurance name was the next natural step in our journey.
While the name is changing, our team is not. Our focus, as always, will remain on our customers. You will continue to receive the same exceptional service and attention as before, and the strong heritage and core values that you’ve grown to associate with the Rand name will continue to live on under the Cross Insurance banner. The only appreciable changes will be to our name and branding, and as such we expect this change to be seamless.

Prior to Cross Insurance of purchasing Rand Insurance in 2019, the agency started small in Greenwich, CT in 1938. We weren’t the largest agency around, so we dedicated ourselves to being the best that we could be by providing excellent personal service and innovative thinking to help our clients reach their goals. Better service wasn’t just a slogan; it was and still is the cornerstone of our culture.
As the 3rd generation Rand, and after leading and building the business for 50 years, Stanley “Sandy” Rand retired in 2019. His legacy carries on with his daughter, Lindsay Rand McGuckin, as she continues to represent the family and help the agency flourish as one of the largest insurance agencies in southwest Connecticut with offices in Greenwich and Fairfield.
Today, Barbara Stevens is Senior Vice President and Brand Manager of Cross Insurance Greenwich with over 40 years at the agency. Paul Mercado heads up the commercial division of Cross Insurance Greenwich with 25 years here.
Over half of the staff have 10+ years tenure with the firm.
Since 1938, we have grown alongside southwest Connecticut. We’re proud of the part we’ve played to make it such a great place to work, live and raise a family.
We support numerous charities including hospitals, libraries, museums, community non-profits, local sports teams, and national health organizations. We believe it is a critical part of our business to give back and support these organizations in our local area in order to directly impact and improve lives of our neighbors.
We will continue to do that as a Cross Insurance agency.
